About the Project

Luddy LAN is a networking platform designed for over 2,000 students at the Luddy School of Informatics. The platform centralizes alumni interactions, facilitates idea-sharing, and provides access to essential resources. Built using React for the frontend and Google Firebase Firestore for the backend, the platform serves as a hub for student engagement and community building.

Key Features:

Friend Connections: Users can search for and connect with fellow students and alumni.

Real-Time Chat: Instant messaging capabilities using Firebase's real-time database.

Club Participation: Join various clubs and engage with members through posts and discussions.

Search Functionality: Users can easily find peers, clubs, and posts with an intuitive search bar.

Community Engagement: Allows sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences through interactive posts.

HomePage

This is the homepage, where users are directed to log in. Only those with an @iu.edu email can access the dashboard and portal features.

Friends Tab

The features include sending Friend Requests to Luddy students or alumni, managing Friend Requests, viewing My Friends, browsing All Users, and exploring Recommended Users.

Clubs

This feature enables users to create clubs or groups and post content. Members can like, share, and engage with the posts. Followers of the group receive notifications whenever new content is posted.

Live Chat

This feature allows users to chat with their friends, see when their messages have been read, and receive notifications for new messages.
